Hi everyone,
Rather than be a small fish in the big sea that is gripboard.com, I decided to post my journal over here with my other training journal.
Background:

I've been working with the COC grippers for several months and have recently switched over to the Ivanko Super Gripper utilizing the hammar sports program (with slight modifications)
http://www.hammarsports.com/training.html#four

I've also recently been interested in nail bending. The past few month I've been sledge levering and just recently bought my first bending stock from Fat Bastard Barbell Company. I've done allright with the first thickness of "nails', but after that, forget it. Today I downloaded Diesel Crew's bending manual and hope to get a lot of use out of it, as it's purported to be the premier primer on bending.

If anyone is wondering what the hell I'm talking about, check out gripboard.com. Some of the best crushers, benders, (playing card) tearers, and (phone book) rippers in the world hang out there, and are happy to answer the questions of newbies like me.

And as I've mentioned before, my current long term goal is to crush a full, unopened beer with one hand. Then eventually, I may try for Phil's raw potato crush.

04/25

This is my second time through the hammar routine with a new 1rm (hopefully) every week:

1rm 215(resistance in lbs) 12&1 (spring locations)

10X50% 104 6&3
7x60% 130 8&2
5X70% 151 9&2

3x5X77.5% 165 8&5

each working set I did finger entensions with a thing rubber band. I did no active recovery.

Bending is going slowly. I'm reading the diesel crew e-book and am able to bend the first thickness (I skipped the part about determining what each nail is called) down to 5". The next thickness won't budge. I'm hoping that reading the rest of the book will provide ome insight in how to conquer this this thing.

Good work! :)

Is the Ivanko carrying over to the CoC's well?

Is the Ivanko carrying over to the CoC's well?

Thanks!
No there is very little carry over unfortunatly. That being said, the only time I really try to close a CoC (still have the #2 to close) is after my ISG workout, so it might be a matter of being worn out.

Monday:
10X50% 104
7x60% 130
5X70% 151

3*77% 165

3x82.5 174

Nails not so much. I'm reading the e-book a little closer and concentrating on the Double underhand. Jedd says that's more of a grip thing (as oppossed to DO), and that's what I'm in it for. I get the theory and I think once I work things out with the e-book and some gripboard guidance I may be able to move up.
