Hey Rip and fellow Rip-ites.

I was watching the Dave Tate lecture and Dave mentioned when doing a set of DL to regrip per each rep. If there was a workset of 5, that means readdressing the bar and regripping each time rather than just lowering it down and lifting it back up.

Thoughts? It had to do with technique and form and that over a set, the lifter would lean shoulders more over the bar though at one time in the video he commented that one lifter actually started setting his hips higher when he did a connected set.

I don't know about re-gripping each rep, but you definitely have to reset at the bottom. If you don't it's not a DEAD lift. Thus the name.

In the videos Dave had them step away and readdress the bar quickly in a set of 5. He also personally didn't care about the eccentric part of the DL and was more concerned in the concentric part so dropping at the top was fine. Obviously for comps is different and he said it also has to do with what you're working with ( bumpers, plates, and gym rules ).
