Hi Coach, just a quick question

Been doing SS for 5 weeks after changing from the stronglifts routine (good routine, but I figured I would be better off doing something more established such as SS) and started off at 145lbs at 6'2.

Needless to say I was looking to bulk up fast and I pretty much follow the see-food diet and eat as much as I can (dont do GOMAD, but I aim to drink milk every day) and now 5 weeks later I stand at 175 1/2 lbs.

Is a 30lb weight gain in 5 weeks actual a normal rate? I always hear people tend to gain 3-4 lbs weekly, but not the 6~ i've been gaining. Hell I'm not complaining - Im clearly nowhere near fat and my lifts have never stalled. Im just concerned from a health standpoint.

Thanks for your time

This normal weight gain for a young, tall, skinny kid who starts lifting weights and eats enough. Why would you be worried about your health because of weight gained while training?

I've gained about 35 in a similar time period. I went from 6'4 205# to about 240# depending on the scale and I'm still looking to gain 35 more, although my weight gains are tapering off a little. Keep eating and picking up heavy stuff.

As a senior in high school, I was 5' 10" and 125lb...

I had to stand twice to cast a shadow!!!
