Hi coach.

I think I have a curse on me, because everytime I get momentum and start progressing nicely somehow I get injured

I've never had any back problems until now.

Here's what happened:

I'm on Texas Method. Last Wednesday was my light day. I didn't bother warming up that much. I do always make at least 4 warm up sets though.

When I was squatting, everytime I got to the bottom of the squat I felt a pain in my lower back, just where the spine ends. It caught my attention because I never felt this before.

Thursday was fine and Friday was my heavy day. I made sure I warmed up a lot. The pain came back and this time it was a little bit more constant during the whole workout. Nothing serious. I decided to deadlift anyway and finish the workout.

Saturday I woke up and the pain is constant for most of the day. I can live with it but it's extremely annoying. It hurts when I'm sitting or when I bend over. Yesterday Sunday I went to the gym and did a lot of back extensions and the pain was almost gone, but as soon as I cooled off it came back again.

So basically I have pain in my lower back where the spine ends (at the bottom of the lumbar area?) and I have no idea what it is or what I should do.

It hurts when:

- At the bottom of a squat
- Bending over
- I'm sitting for an hour or more
- I do hanging leg raises

It gets better when:

- I move and warm up
- I do back extensions

I hate it when this happens. I can only imagine what the chiropractor here in Costa Rica is going to tell me. Sigh.

Any idea of what this can be?

Should I be worried?

Go to the chiropractor. At least he won't tell you that he needs to do surgery. But it's going to heal anyway, whether you go or not. He may make it feel better faster. Your call.
