View Full Version : Sore next day after very first workout

Hey guys.
After a 2 year break from bodybuilding, i worked out for the first time.
I worked out on Sunday with only three excersises following starting strength.


Not including weight of olympic bar:

3x5
squat - 33lbs - 15kg
bench press 44lbs - 20kg
deadlift - 50lbs - 22kg


quick bio

- 5'10
- 184 pounds
- 22%bf

In that order, and i know my stats are real low

The thing is tho i am feeling really sore today ( the day after ) and i don't feel like i will be ready to work out again tomorrow, what should i do? have a long shower?, cold shower, i really want to work out just don't want to over train.

I didn't have any protein after it, not for 2 hours later as i don't have any wpi etc, what should i do, or u recommend?

No shit? You got sore after a workout? Didn't eat to recover from it? Puzzling. Weird. Completely unexpected. Damned if I know. Never heard of such a thing. And you're wondering what to do next, if you should train while you're sore. Gosh, projector, I just don't see how you can. It might hurt. I'd just wait if I were you. That should be "u".

It tells me all I need to know about "bodybuilding" (shouldn't that be "body sculpting"?) when someone can bench more than they can squat or (almost) deadlift.

Seriously, this is thought of as "building" a body?

Why do you not include the weight of the bar? Did you not lift the bar?

I did laugh at Rip's original reply. It make me think how silly the question was.

This was the first time in a very long time of working out, i had put on a lot of weight since i last worked out, most fat.

So this was just me seeing what i could lift.
The reason why i posted it was i actually did feel real sore the next day.

I do own Starting Strength and have read it, i will re read it over the next week.

And no this is not a joke.

This is what i did today.

(Including Bar)

3x5 Squat - 90lbs

3x5 Press - 70lbs

3x5 Powerclean - 70 lbs
