View Full Version : Ruptured Biceps Tendon

Rip,
Do you have any experience with trainees with a ruptured long head of the biceps tendon. My right one let go recently and I will probably have it surgically repaired. Because they will attach the tendon to the humerus instead of the labrum, I will lose the biceps function in glenohumeral stability. Any experience or advice for rehab and returning to training? Thanks.

I have no experience with this particular injury, but why have you waited so long for the repair?

It's only been two weeks since the rupture, and we're only waiting for insurance to process the paperwork and authorize the surgery. My surgeon tells me it only becomes a problem if you wait 6 months or more and the tendon/muscle retract.
