I picked the Trainer. I was able to close it 10 times with my right hand and about 5 or 6 with my left. Of course, like any first timer, I proceeded to work my grip way too hard and knew I'd regret it in the morning.

I think I'll get the #1 sometime this week, then keep on trucking. My goal is to become a Captain of Crush with my <7" hands :)

happy crushing,

what kind of grip workout plan are you on and where did you find it? i ordered a whole set of grippers from one of Daniel Evans' (member here) links.

Right now I only have one gripper, so my options are fairly limited. I expect to progress rapidly on the Trainer however, so that I will need a #1 if I want to do anything heavy. Right now I am going to go with 3 sets to failure (which happens to be relatively low reps) and will later on get a bit more complicated. I think I will train with basically the same adaptation philosophy as barbell exercises: in the beginning most any stress will cause a strengthening reaction, and as you progress rep schemes, rest and assistance become more necessary. I'd like to see if I could do a "Texas Method" for grip program. 3 day schedule if I can handle it..

we'll see... :p

just did 25 reps right hand with the Trainer, set wider than credit card. When I started out I could get 8 I think, maybe fewer.

ahhhh...being a novice :)
