Hi Charles (or others).
Do you ever practice Power Cleans on their own in place of full Squat Cleans? It seems like it would help with the second pull (at least wrt pulling power) and might groove the 2nd pull better...
However, it also seems like it might send conflicting motor pattern signals to the brain.
I notice that I pull a little differently when I am doing a full Clean & Jerk as opposed to when I am just practicing heavy squat cleans. I can squat clean more than I can jerk. As a result, I believe that I "think" about the upcoming jerk in a C&J and pull differently.
This is all probably a bit irrelevant, since my clean is significantly higher than my jerk and I should just be figuring out how to get my jerk up!!! :)
What do you do?
Regards,
brittf
