Say you've gotten to the point with your press where your ideal jumping increment is 2.5 pounds. Say you want to go for 137.5.

If you're travelling and forced to use a hotel gym where the closest you can get to 137.5 is 140, and this turns out to be your 3 RM, what's the ideal number of sets to go for to approximate a SS workout? 4x3? 5x3?

Minor question I'm sure but it comes up from time to time.

Doesn't matter. You're then off-program, so do what you can and get back on-program when you get back home.

Bring your small plates with you? Or would Homeland Security confiscate them at the airport and then wiretap you...

I did a search and figured out how to make my own small plates to add weight. So then I throw those bad boys in the suitcase and stay on track.

I don't know what type of small plates you are using, but I've traveled several times with four washers I bought from McMaster-Carr. I got stopped a few times in security, but nothing major.

The part number is 90108A046, and they fit every bar I've used with them. Two of those washers weigh almost exactly 1.25 lbs. They come in a pack of 5 (less than $10).
