Wait is this the one where there Paulie had a robot he had "special times" with?
I do know it at least was the poster child of a trope (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MadeOfIron).
Rocky IV is the best American propaganda film ever made. Even Casablanca has to bow to this epic combination of subtle nationalism, 80's swagger, and revenge. From the beginning scene where the American flag boxing glove crushes the soviet one, to the humble and unifying victory of Rocky, sans "Italian Stallion" nick name (just Stallion here, and only from Apollo). In all the other films he's doing it for Adrian, or motivated by Creed's hounding, or Mick, but in this one Rocko really strikes out on his own, to avenge his friend's death. My heart breaks every time I see Creed take the fall, even if it is after the most obnoxiously awesome entrance in all of sports history. Hell, there's even a bad ass, introspective, drive scene with some 80's mullet soft rock playing, giving the film depth of emotion and scope. It also offers training advice with it's comparison and contrast of Rocky's simple, yet brutal and archaic training with Drago's super-tech, doping, shenanigans.....reminding us that a pure heart, hard work, and a revenge motive can overcome the science of the evil cheating soviets. Hard to touch this one....

Ah Rocky IV, the last of the good Rocky movies. I always loved how in the first two movies, Rocky was always congratulating people; "hey you did it." But at the end of Rocky II he finally gets some self esteem after beating Apollo; "Yo Adrien, I did it!"
Gets me every time
I also always liked the end of Rocky III when he and Apollo are about to spar. They talk a little smack to each other, then they both take a swing. Right before they connect, the frame freezes and morphs into a painting. Pure art.
Part IV is probably my favorite though. "There were two people killing each other in the ring tonight, but I guess that's better than 2 million." "If you can change, then I can change... We all can change!"

It's true, nothing makes me feel more patriotic than a viewing of Rocky IV. It's the true American Epic. Rocky's steely resolve and determination going up against the indestructible and chemically enhanced Drago.
It's almost too good!

It still cracks me up that the guy takes a ton of head shots and keeps getting more articulate in each movie.

I have to say I think Rocky III is the best of them all. It starts with the match against Thunderlips, then Mickey dies when Rocky loses to Clubber the first time they fight, and then Apollo becomes Rocky's trainer and their friendship begins. Just the fact that it has both Hulk Hogan and Mr. T puts it at the top.

"if he dies, he dies."
very good movie, imo. plus, brigitte nielsen before she turned into super-lush, flava flav-loving joke..

During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!
