Hi Mark,
I've been reading your books on the treadmill this week. I notice you mention having both a messed up knee and a messed up back.
Are the accumulation of these injuries common for competitive lifters? Can they or should they be avoided by athletes? Much of what I read in the strength and conditioning articles emphasizes injury avoidance but I wonder if there isn't an inherent risk in lifting heavy shit on a regular basis.
I don't think I've seen you pontificate on this subject and am curious about how you feel about now as an old guy versus, as a coach, and as a competitor.
