Potato Salad Snack - Makes 2 servings
========================

2 medium potatoes
4 eggs
3 tbsps mayo (full fat of course)
1 packet bacon (125 grams where I come from)
1 big spring onion

Boil potatoes, boil eggs. Fry bacon. Keep fat. Chop the potatoes and the eggs. Mix with the bacon (don't forget all that delicious fat). Mix in the mayo. Add salt, pepper, spring onions, mix it all up.

Best accompanied by a nice bitter red beer.

Approx nutritional info per serving (not including beer):

Calories: 700
Protein: 40 grams
Carbs: 35 grams
Fat: 45 grams

If you want more protein you could always add plain egg whites (disgusting).

Looking forward to hearing people shouting at me that 700 cals is not enough per meal, and sharing their own recipes.

I grew up in Hawaii. I've lived there back and forth my whole life and there is wonderful food on the Aina! One of my favorites is Kalua pig. To go for real local kine you need an Imu but a crock pot works really well.

you need.....

1)as big a shoulder roast (Boston, whatever) you can fit into your crock pot.

2) liquid smoke (1/2 bottle)

3) Salt(rock, table, pink Hawaiian, lava, whatever)

First cover the roast in salt and liquid smoke.

Put it in the crock for 10 hours on low.

Flip it over as best you can after ten hours then cook it again for another 6 to ten on low. Not too critical at this point.

Drain out the juices and use as a gravy. Or keep em in, it just depends how much fat was on your cut of meat.

This is my favorite, favorite, meat side dish on earth. Ono!

Aloha Nui Loa!

Awesome thread. This is a local classic back home. This is all those big local bastards eat. Along with spam musubi's (later) and fucking poi. It would be mostly considered a breakfast food but that's totally a matter of opinion.

You need

Rice (white, or white and brown mix) cooked in the steamer or boiled or whatever. Sticky though. I'm not gonna get into how to cook rice. I'm sure you can handle it.

Hamburger. Several + pounds. Large 1/2 lb. patties at least.

Gravy, Brown. There are a thousand ways to make brown gravy. Add the flour, add the milk, you know, gravy.

Eggs. Lots of eggs.

Put a big pile of rice on a large plate. Place cooked patties on top of the rice(2-3) place eggs(over easy/medium) on top of patties (equal to # of patties plus one egg) then cover the whole goddamn thing with brown gravy.

Tobasco sauce/red hot/red devil/ Dave's insanity(careful) go well with this.

Try it and see why Samoans are so big. I have no idea how many calories something like this may have(fuck calories, a lot ok), but it's delicious and goes wonderful with a can of spam.

Fucking A! Don't be supprised if you find yourself eating it multiple times a week at all times of the day and night...

I made a new guy error and didn't SEARCH before starting a new topic.

There is already a food thread, right here in Ends & Pieces.

As if I wasn't embarrassed enough by my totally undeserved "Senior Member" rating already...

I like the recipes you guys have contributed though.
