Sucks to be in the UK.
Ordered my pair today. I talked to Bill and just want to make sure everyone knows to order them in the same size as your sneakers.

Are they going to have 13's & 14's?

Prolly does. Your police state seems to be out of control, and you are apparently prohibited from buying shoes from the US.
Are they going to have 13's & 14's?
Not in this order, but the next.

I'd buy it.
A little scene with me sitting at this fucking desk typing on this board? Find a manufacturer and I'm in.

I ordered 12.5s and I usually wear 13 sneakers. My 13s aren't completely snug so I'm hoping the 12.5s will fit. I'll post the results when they get here for any curious folk.

Thanks, that's exactly my issue. I'm a 13 shoe and am wondering if the 12.5s fit loose or tight.

I don't know about the UK, but nowadays very few US companies sell online outside the US and certainly don't ship out of the US.
You know, in case you were a terrorist trying to buy lifting shoes to develop evil super-strength powers.
Everybody here (Iceland) buys online from the UK or elsewhere these days because the US just doesn't work anymore. Homeland Security eh?

Rip, would the lower heel be able to compete with a regular squatting shoe or is it more of a compromise for the deadlift?

They are nice looking shoes. Not as flashy as my Do-wins, which is nice.
If the action figure were to become a reality a must have feature would have to be a pull string. Preloaded with over 100 real live Rippatisms! That, and Squatomatic action with life like cracking joints:)
Sorry, getting silly off topic:) I did manage to up my Deadlift to 335 lbs today!

Well we sold thru all but 5 pair of the shoes, they went quick and we were missing some of the shoes from the order. I have a big order in now that should take 30-45 days with sizes ranging from 5-14.5.
We shipped a ton of them out tonight so let me know how you guys/gals like them.

I ordered 11.5s last night and received a message from Rogue today saying, "The first shipment of Rips were shorted so we are unable to ship your shoes right now. We are going to be out until 23Feb10." I lose.

Anyone else get theirs yet? I'm wearing mine right now, first impression is that it's not a bad looking shoe at all. Though the laces are WAY too short, and come laced very strangely. I can't tie them at all.
I ordered the 12's, and can't decide if they fit properly or not =-\. Seems to fit perfect on my left foot, and be a little tight (too narrow?) on my right foot, though it's hard to say. I really don't want to return them as i don't have another pair of weightlifting shoes and they won't be getting more in for at least four weeks.
Anyone have any feedback on their own pair? Anyone order a 12.5 that they think is just a bit too big? Heh.
How should weightlifting shoes fit? With just as much space in the front as a running shoe, or a bit more snug?
Keeping them on for a while and seeing how i feel walking around the house =-\

I'm awaiting everyone's reply on sizing. I will probably be purchasing a pair of that is sorted out, but I'm a little worried I'll have to send them back as my body doesn't seem to like heel lift.

I got mine today. They're size 12.5 and they fit pretty well actually. I normally wear size 13D sneakers. My size 13s aren't immensely tight; as I said before I have about .5" of free space in them.
I made a post about them in training discussion, and I'll quote it here:
I got mine today and trained with them. I ended up re-lacing them, and the laces are pretty small. I definitely liked them. I felt it was easier to break parallel in the squat, yet I still felt my hips contributing the majority of the work. I like the non-slip bottoms. No complaints as of yet.
They're definitely different moving over from wrestling shoes, which have a flat sole, and I came too far forward on a couple squat reps and one deadlift rep, but that's just something to get used to.
I squatted and pulled heavy in them today and it seemed fine; no issues with them making the deadlift into a "deficit deadlift" due to the extra height.
There are a couple people in the same thread (http://startingstrength.com/resources/forum/showthread.php?t=14256&page=4) who say that the shoes ended up being too small. I guess if they're all sold out now anyway it couldn't hurt getting the 13's if you normally wear size 13. However, if you're like me and have an extra .5" or so in your 13s the 12.5s should fit perfectly.

If some of you are finding that the shoes don't fit precisely, why don't you set up a little exchange program with each other? Might be the perfect answer.

Keep in mind that weightlifting shoes aren't meant to be normal walking shoes. They're a tool for lifting weights. So while they of course shouldn't kill your feet from walking around in them, the best tests are going to be squatting, pulling, and pressing in them.
Also, they should be pretty snug, but not to the point of discomfort. If the tightness on your right foot is truly enough to cause pain or what not then perhaps they're too small. But they should indeed be snug in all directions, hence the lateral straps. Again, the best test will be doing the exercises in them.

I have no basis for comparison in weight lifting shoes, though. So they fit a bit snug (perhaps too much so) after trying them on, but I wouldn't want to lift in them and then return them, because I'm not sure if that's inappropriate or simply wouldn't be allowed with Rogue.

Hope I don't break some etiquette here, but if I do feel free to yell at me.
I've read through all the posts my search returned on heel height, but I think I have a new question for you, Coach. I think my DL form is pretty solid, but I want to get weightlifting shoes to help with my squat (I've been using Chucks but I've see the error of my ways) . So with my emphasis on a shoe for squatting, are the new Rip shoes (.5" heel) or the Rouges with the .75" heel a better choice?

There is not much difference in the way two heel heights affect the squat. The primary difference shows up in the deadlift.

Bill,
Received my RIP shoes last night. Perfect fit using my current sneaker size. Worked out in them today instead of basketball category shoes. Here's my observations (novice)
Squat: Same weights seemed easier. Shoes seem to facilitate more hip drive. Felt it more in left glute (probable form improvement). Greater stability and consistency in reps.
Bench: Force from feet on floor was more stable and consistent in reps
Deadlift: Form during first warm up set seemed different. Adjusted by pressing harder on heels. Great stability and consistency in reps.
Overall: Much improved experience on Squat, Bench, and Deadlift. Still using very light weight for Power Clean to acheive proper rack, but will provide that feedback soon. I'm very happy I bought the RIPS shoes. Thank you Bill and Rip.

If any of you need to exchange the shoes all you need to do is send them back to us and we will send you a new pair once they arrive for free. We sold out immediately but as folks return shoes etc the size you need may come up.
We will also be compiling the sizing issues and try to get the best sizing table on the site. Since every brand seems to be a bit different we are messing with measuring the inside of the shoe to allow for foot length and width comparisons. From what I have seen so far the sizing is very close to normal tennis shoe size whereas the Rogue Do Wins are about a 1/2 size larger than tennis shoe size.
We have had a couple issues with the shoes, all of which are getting addressed within minutes with the manufacturer. We will be checking all shoes going out 100% for anything out of the ordinary on the next batch.
Hopefully we will have another run of the shoes within the next 3 weeks now. The wild card is always customs.
One frequent question is on the heel height. The heel height is not the measurement from the back of the shoe, it is the heel strike height minus the toe pad strike height. We are going to cut one in half with a sawsall for illustration, we just don't have any right now!
Bill
