These $1 1/4 pounder double cheese burgers from BK are awesome! I bought 2 for lunch yesterday. Today I'm going for 3. I wouldn't do it everyday due to the sodium and shit quality food, but in a pinch this a fun lunch!
770 calories 20g sat. fat 160mg cholesterol 6g sugar 30g carbs
51g fat 2.5g trans fat 50g protein 1480mg sodium

I am tempted by the convenience of burgers. It sure seems to be a great way to eat a lot of protein & calories fast.
My problem is that the type is fast food places or frozen ones all make me gag.
I had a mcdonalds once when I was on holiday, made me feel sick.
Ive got nothing against eating minced up offal though. A great way to get a lot of meat cheaply really.
So I think I might experiment with making my own burgers. Will post some pics if I do it.

That is seriously the lowest grade fat you could eat. Hydrogentated fat has been banned in a few countries already and there is a massive push to remove it from everything because it is so bad. It seems every margarine/processed food/baked product in the UK is removing hydrogenated fat one by one.
Crisco now consists of a blend of soybean oil, fully hydrogenated cottonseed oil, and partially hydrogenated soybean and cottonseed oils.
Soy is also toxic, and soybean oil is the cheapest nastiest tasting oil.
Why not eat some cream for a high fat fix? Or swig on some olive oil?

Mom used to cook everything we ate in that shit. I'm not a hippie-dippie health nut who's afraid of every little toxin, preservative or artificial whateverthefuck, but I gotta admit I'd rather not be eating that.

I was up in the NWT for a few months last year working. No kidding, many of the locals walk around town eating raw caribou dipping it in a can of Crisco as they go:)
None of them were 70's big.

This BB.com thread on the same topic is some good humorous reading: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121619431
Although, I did find this article of Lyle's which I hadn't yet read: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/research-review/hormonal-responses-to-a-fast-food-meal-compared-with-nutritionally-comparable-meals-of-different-composition-research-review.html

Dastardly, I was kidding dude, LMAO.
I heard some kids in the gym talking about their big bodybuilder friend (a role model for them) who eats tubs full of margarine with a spoon.
Pretty much the same thing, its not a huge stretch of the imagination for someone to be eating shortening. Theres plently of people swigging on oil.

Oh god man. When I first came to San Antonio and saw that the Whoopers were sold for ~$2, it was then I firmly realized I was in some kind of godless hellhole.

I'm still on linear progression and unfortunately am having to commute to work for a few weeks ("commute" to me is an hour, but it still sucks). Since I'm still on the "See-Food" diet, I have been relying on two awesome deals to help get my much needed calories.
In the morning: 2 sausage McMuffin /w Egg for $3
Lunch: 2 x double cheese burgers from BK for $2
2300+ calories for $5??? I love America....
On days im feeling extra (wannabe) 70s big, I grab another 2 McMuffins during breakfast and an extra double cheeseburger during lunch. I must say, it's work getting those down throughout the day PLUS my GOMAD but it's simply the price of progress.
...And for you health nuts, yes this is EVERYDAY. I'm a San Franciscan, if I can do it...you SURE AS HELL CAN!!

Lucky-ass Americans and your cheap food. In Ontario Canada, a big mac costs nearly $5.

A Qdoba pulled pork burrito with guac, sour cream and cheese is 1110 calories, 50 grams of protein, and sixty-five billion grams of sodium. Oy, Dios Mio.

I love it when McD's has their 2 sausage mcmuffins with egg for $2.50. My PR is four, but I'm training to PR next time they have the deal.
PVC has it right. The standard BK "meal" here in the UK is almost $10. No such thing as a double-cheeseburger in Europe or the UK, it seems. But you can get individual cheeseburgers, toss the extra buns and stack them for a not too horrid price. I miss the $5 double-quarter-pounder meals at McD's in the states--what a price for all the proteins, fats, salts and sugars you could want in a meal!

These nutrition facts are obviously incorrect, surprised nobody has pointed it out.
Compare:
macros double cheeseburger: 770/51/30/50
Whats on it, bun, condiments, 2 slices cheese, 2 burgers
macros on double hamburger: 370/19/27/23
So unless 2 slices of american cheese have 400 calories, 32 grams of fat, 3g of carbs and 27 g of protein, this is off
More comparisons:
BK Triple Stacker: (triple cheeseburger w/ bacon)
macros: 750/57/30/44
Now to figure out the actual calories on the double cheeseburger
Hamburger: 260/11/27/14
Cheeseburger: 310/15/28/16
Cheese alone: 50/4/1/2
Add two of these to the double hamburger and we get
470/27/29/27 as the true count of the double cheeseburger from BK

They are double quarter pounders, and not the regular, smaller burger. They use the same patty as the Whopper.

True Protein has a recession blend whey protein special. 25lbs of protein is like $130 for a blend or $100 if you get concentrate.
It comes out to like 1.14 cents/gram. You don't get any fats or calories in there, but adding a scoop or two of protein to a glass of milk ain't a bad way to go.
I got the blend. It comes in just a big plastic food grade bag and takes up the whole top of my fridge.
I don't drink that many shakes, but I think this was a deal I could not pass up. I forgot what shipping was, maybe $14 or something reasonable.
They sell it in 50 lb bags too.

In Prague we get double cheeseburgers at Mcd. 2 for about $5, ~1000 calories 50 grams of protein. Nothing like the states, but the best fast food deal I've been able to find out here. On the other hand we get a half liter of the best beer in the world for $1.50.
I like to buy 2, throw away one set of buns and eat them as a quad cheeseburger. For my birthday my gf made me a 8 patty cheeseburger; she's obviously down with me getting 70s big.

This sucks. If the BK near me weren't so dirty I'd eat there. Oh well, I'll settle for my 3 McDoubles with Big Mac sauce I guess. I make those McDoubles into McHexxers and they're amazing! $3 and 66grams.

Praha is wonderful, one of my favorite cities in Europe, and the Czech Republic one of the most liberal regimes as well. Rip should do an SSS there in its honor. I'd gladly fly in.
Even better than the beer in Praga is to get out in the countryside and try the local beers. Some of the best I've ever had I got out in Kutna Hora. Oh, to be 20 again and to just tramp around the countryside living out of a backpack for a summer--beautiful and smart women (as shown by jjohal's girlfriend), excellent beer (and wine), just a little coolness toward the stranger that quickly dissolves. There is a significant Czech and Polish immigrant community in my nearest town, I'm hoping to find some of those wonderful beers there.

I was back in the UK for a couple weeks recently. Stopped over at a BK because there's none in my corner of Beijing. Large triple Whopper meal with extra cheese and an orange juice... £7.05, or about $10.75.
