So annyoed, injured my neck two weeks back doing overhead presses, was so embarassed that I didn't want to write about it. Now that I've gotton over it, I'll share.

Had my hand really wide. and started OHP with a challenging weight. On lockout, the weight transfered through my arms, through my shoulders and straight onto my neck.

I use to press like this before on my BB programme (the so called arnie press), so don't know how it happened. I felt like my neck was being squeezed like a vice, pressed by my shoudlers.

Normally the weight would be borne by the shoulders, I guess must've relaxed the shoulders and passed the weight through.

Learn my lesson..

Even realtively light OHP's technique matters.

Watched SSdvd several times, due to re-read the SS chapter on OHP

I think I speak for everyone when I say you need to implement more rack pulls. Problem solved.

Duely noted, will implement..

Ps. I have recovered from injury, have full mobility and can lift, but I guess the muscle belly still needs to recover.

I respectfully disagree. The Msingh Army vomitting all over the boards is getting old. To each their own *shrugs*.

You got hurt because you're stupid.

I'm afraid there's no cure.

not that it matters but what you described is not the Arnold press...

should look more like this:

Palms facing back to begin, then as you lift, rotate hands inwards till they are facing away at lockout.
