Short story, I have an eating challenge, with money on the line (a bet with my friends). Two one pound burgers. Any tips other than practice? They're from Fuddruckers. I was training a bit before, hahah, by having a one pounder everytime I went. Some days, I felt ready to take down another, and some days I could barely finish.

How long do you have to train? :P
It's healthier to eat smaller meals throughout the day, but for food eating competitions, you need to basically stretch your stomach. Force-feed yourself with fewer but larger meals.
Speed is of the essence. You have to get that thing down before your body realizes it's full.
Rooster....May the Gods bless you in this noble undertaking.......
Make yourself eat three before hand, whether you're vomiting 2/3 the way through or not, and then two will seem easy. Just think again and again of the GLORY that comes with beating your friends asses in eating contests. Tell those bitches to put up or shut up and if they don't have what it takes to sit their ass down and show what they got, then they're not your damn friends. Squat heavy like a motherfucker the day before and consume lots and lots of milk that day as well to keep the stomach stretched and keep the metabolism going. Be sure to be hungry as hell the day of the fight, but DO NOT FAST! That will hurt, not help you. Maybe go apeshit like some do before a lift, right as you dive into the two bastards. This won't help but will make you awesome... Have condiments on the side to switch up the flavors...THIS IS IMPORTANT! Playing with different flavors will leave your taste buds asking for more.... And little sips of water throughout the whole ordeal....Good luck!
Try asking at the EliteFTS Q&A. They may have the answers you need.
Start by drinking a gallon of water in as little time possible. Get everything stretched out. Do this everyday prior to the event, for training.
Chew about 3-4 packs of chewing gum a day. Really get through that stuff and fill your mouth with that stuff. If this is a timed event, your jaw will get locked up and fatigued possibly. Train it by going crazy with the gum.
+1 for training SUPER heavy and hard the day before, if not that morning.
Eat fast, fast FAST. Fill up before your satiety hormones have a chance to circulate.

the incredible takeru kobayashi trains using easily digestable high volume foods like rice & noodles.
He is much smaller that anyone else at these comps(even has 8 pack abzors), yet managed to dominate competition which consisted mainly of massive fat americans.
The key things being, the training with very filling but easily digestible foods like the rice & pasta. And also powerlifting.

I think he has taking a break from the eating now as all the chewing was giving him jaw arthritis!
In terms of technique, really only chew things the absolute minimum amount. Just enough to swallow it. Chewing takes up time, and time makes you feel like you are eating more that you really are. You need to get the burgers inside you quick. Pro eaters would probably separate the patty & the bread. And soak the bread in water to make it easier to swallow.

I did something like this in college... charity thing where you get friends to sponsor you for each corn dog you eat before the buzzer. My plan, for a few days leading up to the thing, was to drink HUGE amounts of water a couple of times a day... to get used to the feeling of having a hugely expanded gut. But part of the logic behind the water was that I wouldn't be overeating in the days ahead so I'd actually be hungry when chow time came. So the day before, I ate an enormous breakfast and didn't eat much for the rest of the day, but still had tons of water.
I ended up losing by a big margin, but I finished second of like 20 people. The guy who beat me was a rugby guy whose parents were evidently a professional wrestler and a bag of concrete... he had me by 100 lbs easy.
The only other thing is that a lot of the guys who do it for the ESPN events dip the stuff in water... makes it soggy and easier to chew. I think that's a pretty good idea, but it wasn't as good for corn dogs as it probably is for buns.

Some days, I felt ready to take down another, and some days I could barely finish.
You need to stretch your stomach out to avoid that full feeling. I've done something similar twice (1kg steak + sides, entree, dessert and drinks, no speed involved). The first time I went in unprepared and barely finished. The second time I finished easily. I practiced by eating normal meals, but adding a lot of raw carrot and celery to each meal, to create a lot of bulk. This approach lets you expand your stomach without creating, um, evacuation problems. Also gives your jaw a lot of exercise.
And warpaint......like in Braveheart!
If you choose to do the massive amounts of water, put a tiny bit of salt and sugar in the gallon. Too much pure water can make you sick.

Too much water too fast can screw up the bodies osmotic pressure causing cells to lyse and you could die from drinking too much too fast.
