So what are some good ones?
I've been using Stubb's Spicy as it is the lowest sugar one I can find. Its still pretty tasty, but it is a bit spicy if I eat a lot of it which I usually do. I am starting to miss the sweet barbecue sauces, but looking back they weren't all that good to being with.
Anybody have any homemade recipes?
I got a slab of spareribs for $1.50/lb today and its in the freezer waiting for this weekend. I wouldn't mind getting in the kitchen to try something out.

What kind of sauces do you like/have you tried? Stubb's is a tomato and molasses based sauce, which are nice. But there's a whole world of vinegar based sauces. And they can double as a mop, unlike tomato sauces.

Haven't got any recipes but if you come across Ted Reader Sauces pick some up, he has one called Crazy Canuck thats kind of sweet. It's probably the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted.

I looked up the ingredients for Stubb's spicy and it is tomato, vinegar, then molasses. Thats what I'm going for, less sugar but still with some substance and flavor. I'll look for more vinegar based recipes as thats what I'm after.
I'll keep an eye out for some Ted Reader Sauces too.

Sweet Baby Ray's is an excellent "sweet" sauce.
I have a smoker and routinely do ribs, brisket, butt and occasionally chicken. I also make my own sauces, and if you like vinegar based sauces, google NC BBQ sauce, that should give you a ton of recipes.
Here are a couple of links to get you started. I have not actually made these, but they sould like what you are looking for

I mainly choose Bull's Eye because it's the only sauce that doesn't use high fructose corn syrup.
Thanks for this thread! These vinegar sauces sound good.
I've always really liked "J. Lee Roy’s Dippin’ Sauce" -

Be warned it's really sweet. It tastes a lot like Arby's Sauce (Not their bbq sauce).

I just tried some "Trader Joe's All Natural BBQ Sauce".
I had it on some chuck roast.
It's similar to Bullseye but sweet like Sweet Baby Rays.
I like it.
The worst is running out of BBQ sauce and then opening one you've never tried only to find out that it's horrible. I hate the ones that claim "Tangy".
