I just found and purchased, based on name alone, Widmer Deadlift Imperial IPA (8.6% ABV!). Turns out it's quite tasty. It's got a sturdy hops kick-in-the-mouth, balanced out by a malty sweetness that reminds me of caramel apples, but in a good way, not a cloying way. True, the guys on the label are not deadlifting the giant hops flowers, but they are doing some kind of Atlas-y looking thing, and the font is bitchin'. Recommended.
And you can trust that reco, because I have impeccable taste in beverages, food, music, online strength training forums, and, of course, babes.

Been looking for this for a long time, but no one around here carries it. With your recommendation, I may just have to order some online if I can.

ratebeer.com says it's only available in 8 states with Texas probably being the closest. Shipping charges for alcohol suck by the way. I've seen $40 shipping for $20 of beer.

Jeez, if there was a way to get me paid for it, I would UPS you a four-pack. There's no reason have to suffer without beer on account of rapacious shipping fees.

Not sure how serious you (or I) are/am, but PayPal could work. How much is a pack?
I may be trekking down to TX sometime soon as it is anyways. Family just outside of San Antonio.

Awesome, neither am I! I believe it was something like $6.99 or $7.99 for the four-pack. I think I actually do have a PayPal account; at least, I used to. I dunno if they keep them open indefinitely, as I haven't used mine in forfuckingever. Shoot me a PM if you decide you are serious, and we can look at the logistics and then I will find out if I am serious. It's like the underground railroad...of beer.

I just found some of this beer in a Whole Foods Market here in Dallas. Gonna try one tonight. I originally went through the beer aisle looking for some blue label Chimay. They had the Chimay and I as I was looking at the labels down the rest of the aisle it was right there. Looking forward to it!

Had my first one last night, and I'm drinking my second as I type this. I'm not normally one who really enjoys the strong hops flavor in my beers, but this one is a definite exception! Ian already hit the nail on the head as to the flavor profile so I'll just say that I am pleased with my purchase. Cheers!
