Would anyone care to share their chili recipes? I made my first batch today, using this recipe: http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Low-Carb-Chili-67654 but without the mushrooms and bay leaves and with double the tomato paste (a mistake). Also I doubled the amount of cumin.
I think it came out OK, if a bit saltier than I prefer.

In a couple of days I'll try it without the cinnamon.

7-9 carbs per serving? WTF? How many proteins does it have? :D
Looks like a decent recipe to me, though i prefer fresh chillis to chilli powder (or carefully pipetted Dave's Insanity Sauce. with thick rubber gloves on).
One tip I'd like to suggest is adding a few blocks of dark chocolate. Sounds weird, but gives it a lovely rich flavour.

I used 1kg of ground beef, so somewhere in the 150-170g total?
Already ate half of it.

Here's my favorite recipe...
Ingredients
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 - 28 ounce can chopped tomatoes
2 large yellow onions, chopped
2 cups chicken or beef broth
1 tbsp ground allspice
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
4 cloves garlic, minced
EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) to coat pan
Directions
1. Heat the oil in a large soup pot. Add onions and saute 'til soft. Add garlic and let heat 'til fragrant, about 2 minutes, making sure not to burn the garlic. Add the meat and sauté until browned and crumbled.
2. Blend all the spices in a small bowl. Add to pot and stir well, about 1 minute.
3. Add the tomatoes and broth to the pot. Stir well.
4. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to low so the pot has a gentle simmer. Simmer for a minimum of 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

My issue was with their grammar. You can't have 7 carbs, I presume they mean 7g of carbs. ;)

In the recipe I used, the grease from browning the beef was discarded. In yours it's left in the pot?
Are there guidelines on when the grease should be discarded vs. left in the recipe?

Leave everything in the pot. Don't discard anything. Just keep adding the rest of the ingredients as you go along.

Genius!
(Do you mean a few snapped off squares, or actual whole bars?)

I use between half a bar and a whole one, depending on how much chilli I'm making.

This is a bit old country, but does anyone grind their own meat?
