My Zen teacher went to Mexico some years ago to learn how to fight bulls. Here she is in the ring with a Tora Brava. We talked at great length about this experience, and apparently those animals are no fucking joke. When the bull is felled, after all the acts are through, they give the meat to the poor, orphans, etc. ... But nevermind the bulls you learn on, she said they were mean, but they "knew the ropes" and generally, you were relatively safe, at least in the beginning. But the bulls they use in REAL fights, man, they will fuck you up. She say a guy or two get gored.
