Did you click on the description box for the videos? Fucking Epic.
Video 1:
This man is a beast. He's been able to avoid injury time and time again despite using attrocious form on every excercise known to man. Courtesy to Max Diesel Weasel.
This video is an instant classic. After bouncing the bar of the safety bars, he 'bobbles' up in a significant uneven rise while his knees buckle in and out, his heels get off the floor and his back is bent like that of a lobster as he leverages the weight up with his head. I hope he has his wheelchair picked out.
Video 2:
This man is a beast. He's been able to avoid injury time and time again despite using attrocious form on every excercise known to man. Courtesy to Max Diesel Weasel.
This epic lift is the epitome of bad form. He is standing on a wet sheet of plywood on a slanted driveway in front of his garage. When he cleans the weight he almosts loses it to get crushed under the barbell. The front squats that follow are priceless. He flounders all around and fails on his third rep, dumping the barbell on his knees which are then in their most vulnerable position. All this is done while it's raining. One day this man will die under a barbell.

To be fair, these are old videos when this guy was just starting out. And while his form sucked, a lot of people could learn a thing or two from the effort and consistency he's put in.
From a recent comp:
A 400lb squat and 535lb dead at 165... not bad.

I would be in a wheel chair after having done half that shit. Maybe it's a gift and a curse, but he has a pretty fucking resilient spine. That, and he probably worked up to those weights using equally shitty form, thereby giving his body time to adapt to the stimulus/train-wreck.
Willing to bet those videos are mostly intentionally bad.
If the weights are real, they're not that for off his current meet PRs. I don't know how or why you would fake a scary-awful, hitched DL at 85% 1RM.

No, Diesel Weasel was very sincere with those efforts. His arguments defending his practices a few years back may still be found on various training forums. He's also been banned from a lot of training forums because the arguments got pretty ugly.
But he's cleaned up his form a lot and is decently strong as a 165 raw competitor.

Yeah, he had some great threads over at t-nation a few years ago. He's stubborn as hell, and a bit of an ass, but I can't help but like the guy. He doesn't bitch and moan about his "poor genetics" or any of the other excuses people often throw around, he doesn't give a shit what people think about him, and he works his ass off. Gotta respect that.
He's proof that hard work and consistency > just about everything else.

the scary thing is how Diesel Weasel seems to think that his form is just fine and proceeds to add weight to the bar even though he should take some off.

And yet he's stronger than most of the people on this board, and he's managed to clean up his form a great deal over the years without deloading every few weeks. Seems we might learn something from that...

It's not the first time I've heard that, has he posted any new videos or something? All I've ever seen him doing seemed downright atrocious, maybe I missed a video of him doing stuff with proper form.

Nothing wrong with weighing 165 if you're fucking strong. I think for 165lb guy with bad form 285x16 isn't too shabby.

No offence man but he was pretty heavily geared up in that video. I'm pretty sure I could squat 5 bills with knee wraps and a single ply suit.
hey Matt, you should come by Crossfit on a Wed night to check out Excalibur Crossfit. Robb is a great guy.
We did the Bear Complex last night with burpees inserted in to make it more evil.
Not sure if you know what that is, but it's a Powerclean into a Front squat into a push press into a back squat and back into a push press to get the bar back to the ground. It's intense bro...
You can park your Mazda next to my Mazda 3 in the parking lot...

Kev, thanks for the offer and I'm sure I will at some point... but probably not on a wednesday unless it happens during my xmas holidays.

5 bills for 16 reps? :)

Are you serious.
Like Raskolnikov said, that was NEOPRENE on his hips and knees. You do know that neoprene gives you about 2 lb on your squat, right?
Max competes and trains raw. He's also pulled triple bodyweight with just a belt in competition, conventional style. Nothing record-setting, but respectable and a damn sight better than most of us here.
I don't mean to offend, but you're saying shit about him and you can't even tell single ply from from neoprene. That's just not cool.

A little experiment...
I'd be fascinated to know how deeply ingrained his bad patterns are. Would some pointers quickly add to what he could lift? Or would he have to work his way back up after relearning the movements entirely? I suspect more toward the latter.
(In my case, a couple small adjustments on my deadlift at the SS seminar added at least 10 lbs to my 5RM.)

Gary, I worked up to a stall using what I realized later was pretty attrocious form (not even in the same realm as old D.W. form, but still bad) and I think that fixing it up knocked some off the top of my ability but has allowed me to now dominate the same weights on the way back up.
So for me, there was some learning curve, but it has been totally worth it.
