In my quest to find well fitting trousers I have even experimented with Mom Jeans (which fit great but looked ridiculous).

I am now thinking about grandpa trousers.

Chino/Khaki type trousers have a pleated front, and pleated fronts are good for what? - Big Thighs & Powerful Buttocks of course.

But they reduce the need for a super wide leg all the way down to the feet, which makes you look like your wearing karate trousers.

I was also shocked to find recently that I have not only outgrown my 30" waisted trousers, but even my 34".

36" trousers & jeans are much too long and wide for me ( yet still snug at the thighs)

But Old Man Pants, also have elasticated waists! and come in short lengths.

They seem to be potentially the most perfect trousers, but there is a risk of looking like an illegal immigrant or speshul needs.

Will see how it goes.

The only place I have seen the option for bigger waist vs. shorter length has been old man trousers.

All normal jeans and trousers aimed at normal people here are "square" like 30x30, or 36x36 at the shortest. But it is more common to find, smaller waist vs. greater length. Like 30Wx34L

Are there no tailors in your country?

"Mom Jeans"

"Grandpa Trousers"

Do us all a favor and wear a toga.

You think too much and it doesn't seem like you get out enough, which makes for painfully awkward threads such as these.

Get a bed sheet, wrap it over your shoulder, cinch a belt over your waist, voila!

Just get trousers that fit you in the waist and then get a tailor/seamstress to take up the legs.

Dastardly,

check you your local M&S. I've got chinos with elasticated waist, 36 x33, and they look decent enough. Excellent price, and they've got other measures too.

I don't see how cotton dress slacks are "old man" pants. WHat do you think most people wear to work?

And where are you shopping that you can't find a selection of waist and lengths? Try the Gap, Penny's, Macy's, Nordstrums (if you have the cash).

Im sorry, im new here.

Does this mean you walked to the women's apparel, picked a pair of jeans and went to the men's fitting room to see if they fit you well? Then, proceeded to checkout to buy them?

Lots of sizes of Dockers available from J C Penny's. I wear 38x38 Dockers and buy them there.

Also for big man-sized packages. Much more comfortable that way.
