Hello Mr. Stanley
I have been on Texas Method for 2 or 3 months and am starting to feel run into the ground. My 5x5's are getting harder and harder and I have bee dialing back sets to keep up.
I am thinking about taking next week and only warming up for the three workouts so I can recover. What do you think, is it wise?
Also how should I program sets after the week off? Go back to 5x5 or 3x5? I appreciate any advice.

It's Staley BTW.
If you asked Rip he'd say stop being a pussy and eat more. Im not sure I could improve upon that advice

A 1 week break is good here and there for your mind and body. Just keep eating so you won't lose strength/muscle. Good luck. :)

Forgive for the name goof.
Telling me to eat more would be dumb because I eat tons and tons, milk my own goats for the raw milk and have put on considerable weight. For argument's sake, if it is not food, what then?

sit down for a sec and think to see if you have any of the other signs of overtraining: interupted sleep, lack of motivation, tiredness, short temper, never seeming to recover from workouts etc.
If you think your overtraining take the break and let your body rest.

I believe he offered two solutions ...If the eating thing is squared away....try the other one.
