A correction to the previous log. My benchpress on monday was 180 lbs not 185.

Monday, Oct 1st:
location: Uni Gym

Squat:
Work Sets
4x5x220

Bench Press:
Work Sets
1x5x185
4x4x185

Barbell Rows:
Work Sets
4x4x185

I dropped the amount of reps across this week to make a smaller jump. Squats went well, nothing to really note. Bench I was considering trying for a 5x5 across with 185. However the last rep on the first set was slow so I went with 4 reps for the rest. 185 on barbell rows instead of 180 because there arent many 2.5lb plates around. These are done with a full deweight each time btw. Overall not a bad workout. I've gotta start scouting new programs.

I'll be posting wednesdays and today workout a bit later today. In the mean time I'm pretty sure I'll be giving an intermediate 5x5 a try. I've read the basics from:
http://www.geocities.com/elitemadcow1/table_of_contents_thread.htm
I also was almost dead set on doing it after SS untill I heard about the TM. The TM has done well for me up to this point, however its coming to the point where I may have to completely retool the method in order to continue. Considering I've never really tried ramping, it would be a good experience to see whether or not I like it and how I respond to it.

Just an update I've been ape shyt busy lately. I didn't hit the gym monday because it was thanksgiving and I've needed to catch up on work so I didnt bother with wednesday. I'm just going to forget about posting the end of last week. I'm going to read up on interm 5x5 and see if I can get it started this coming monday. I might just hit the gym a screw around tomorrow.

Monday October 15th
location: University Gym

Squats:
5x105
5x135
5x160
5x185
5x215

Bench press:
8x85 (accidental)
5x110
5x135
5x155
5x175

Power Clean:
Work Sets
5x65
5x80
5x95
5x110
5x125

Weighted Situps:
3x12x 55lb Dumbell

this was my first workout on interm 5x5. Right now I'm rounding the weight to whatever approx I feel like. So if its 127 and I want it to be 130, then sure, if I want it to be 125, why not. I don't really want to bust out the ghetto microplates quite yet. I'm not sure if my university gym would like it anyways, there kinda anal. I'll be using Squats, Bench, Military Press, Power Cleans and Deadlifts as my lifts. Currently set for maxes of:
Squat: 5x230
Bench: 5x190
Military Press: 5x125
Power Cleans: 5x135
Deadlifts: 5x325

However I think 135s a littler aggressive for power cleans, I just started using them not too recently. So I'll being using 125 for the calc from now on.

Wednesday, Oct 17th
location: YMCA

Squat:
5x105
5x135
2x5x160

Military Press:
5x70
5x90
5x100
5x115

Deadlifts:
5x190
5x225
5x265
5x300

Things are still pretty easy. My rest periods were pretty short so the whole work out was pretty quick aswell. It was interesting doing deads with some volume. I've always done them primarily at 1x5. Its probably the only lift I've ever done that can make consistent progress at such little volume and high intensity, probably because of the amount of muscles involved. It'll be interesting to see how well I do with deads as the program gets to a point where Its apply real stress. I always thought that using front squats on wednesday during the texas method was genius. However, I don't think I understood how to balance its progress with the rest of the workout. Hopefully I'll have a better idea next shot.

No real comments, easy, smooth. My heavt 3 on bench should have been 180, I went with 185 because it was easier to put on :p

Squat:
5x110
5x135
5x165
5x190
5x220

Bench:
5x90
5x115
5x135
5x160
5x180

Power Cleans:
5x65
5x80
5x95
5x110
5x130

Still was pretty easy. The 220 squat was a bit of a challenge though. I was probably a bit high on the bench for 5x180, I smacked the cradle twice but at this weight it wasnt a problem.

as a note, I missed the friday workout of this past week. I'm going to attempt to ignore it and keep going. This could be bad. We'll see. It's still early in the program so I think I can handle it.

5x230

Bench:
5x95

5x140
5x160
4x185
4x185

Power Cleans:
5x65
5x85
5x105
5x122

That sucked. Squat was decent. I was over confident on bench. Figure'd I'd down own it and didn't watch my form for the last set. Then I tried it again a few seconds later and fatigued. I'm a friggin champ. Oh and I wrote down the wrong numbers for cleans cause once again I'm a champ. I'm a bit off at the moment. Schools not going the way I want and as a result it seems to be hurting my motivation in the gym. I hope shit looks up

My journal will be taking a hiatus. I dont have the time to keep up lately. School is a massive commitment and I'm glad just being able to balance the gym and school.
