Does anyone have or seen a hard #1.5 - say rating of at least 1.5 or even 1.6 or 1.7? Mine is only about 1.4 and whilst I have read of others having their #1.5s about the same, I'm thinking of either ordering a BBSA (1.7 apparently) or another #1.5.

Thanks for that reply chaos - that list sure proves there is a lot of variation in #1.5s! That last one at 1.76 would be nice. I just have too big a gap between my #1.5 and the several grippers I have around my #2. I do have an RB160 but it is a hard one - 2ish, I might try it again in tomorrow's session as I haven't touched it for a while

btw I have felt a #1 that was harder than my #1.5, as well as a very easy #2 which would have been in the 1.75 area.

Duncan, my 1.5 is exactly the same as my BBSA and I'd rate them about a 1.5 to 1.6.

My RB210N is more narrow and no more than a 2 1/4" spread and rates about a 1.75. You might want to get one, but there's no guarantee that it would be about 2 1/2" spread like the 240 and 260N's I have and that might make it nearly the same as a normal #2.

If I were you and wanting a 1.75 I'd file 3mm off the handle of the 1.5 and see how it feels (noting that you could always take off a couple more mm if needed)

G'day Neil (again - great to see you here!)

- some good thoughts there. Yes, filing the #1.5 is a good idea, I might get another from IM and if it is 1.6+, great, I'll leave it, if it's 1.4 like my current one, I'll file it.

I'm avoiding the RB narrows for now as I'm working on No Sets of normal width grippers.

(I had a bit of a chest crush comparo between my hard RB160 and #2 and they felt the same. So I just used my #2 today for RH)

I can not tell a difference between my BBSA and IM 1.5 and my BBM is a bit easier than my old #2 and clearly easier than my new #2, but off course, clearly harder than the 1.5 or BBSA.
