Despite the title, the description of this subforum says for grip strength, so I guess other stuff also applies.
I've encountered a lot of weird-looking things to train grip. There are levering things like hammers and clubs. There are those gyroscopic balls. There are things like doing eagle loop or towel chinups. There are those spring-resistance grip devices which work each finger individually, or those plate-loaded things which work them together but they pull down in a straight line, rather than in a slight arc like grippers do (which are not plate loaded but use tensile springs, usually much more hardcore springs which are thick).
Plus then there is doing pulling with individual fingers (like slowly eliminating fingers during chins or pulls). Or by doing pressing with the fingers, like in pushups, where you can do it on the pads or tips, with different spacing.
All this stuff is really impressive and takes strong hands, wrists, etc.
