Hi Coach..
I have a groin question for you . I am doing Starting strength , since I started squatting over 200 I experienced groin pain on both sides.
It's been 2 weeks and no matter what I do the pain is still there during the lifts.
It fades away after a few hours but it never goes away completely,
I can still feel a slight discomfort until the next workout even after 2 days off
I am simply looking for some reassurance this is somewhat normal , I know groin pain can take months to heal .. It is more annoying than a debilitating pain..
Thanks for taking the time to answer

I wouldn't say it's normal. I'[d guess you strained some fascia possibly but until/unless you get a diagnosis, we're only guessing. I'd take 10 days off from squatting and re-start, see if it's gone. If not, I'd see a doc

10 days  that's a long time but I suppose it has to be done , I did take a week off before and it went away but it came back once I got to 205lb squats, it was fine during warmup to 185lb.. its' truly annoying but even with the pain I was able to progress to 235lb without stalling..
I will comply though I can use some days off
thanks

You won't waste away in 10 days- find substitutes- back extensions, RDL's, front squats, deadlifts, Olympic lifts, etc

I still have some pain if I lift over 200lbs.... but it does fade after 1-2 sets of squats ..
I have been squatting with a narrower stance, extra warmup and good stretching after the workout ..
the rest helped although it took much less than 10 days .. more like 5-6 and the pain was gone.. now it returns only if I lift heavy and goes away as soon as I rack the weight , but nowhere near as bad as it was in the beginning
this is more like soreness than actual pain. I spoke to other more experienced lifters and they all told me the same thing .. they live with some pain more or less all the times:D

If any of y'all are still experiencing groin pain you might want to try self myofascial release.

I started doing this a couple of months ago after lifting and it has really helped me out.
